Marketing Manager (Interim)

Position summary

The Marketing Manager will report to the Business Unit Director, work with the product and sales teams and be responsible for all activities within the marketing department. The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Support the growth plans of the group by communicating the qualities and benefits of the group’s products and generating appropriate leads for the sales team
• Manage all the group’s marketing including the web sites, email campaigns, exhibitions, advertising and marketing collateral
• Develop, coach and manage the marketing team
• Develop, agree and implement marketing plans, including appropriate KPIs and budget
• Work with the product managers and sales teams to generate the leads needed to meet the group’s commercial targets.

Specific Deliverables

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the current marketing team to ensure delivery of the short-term marketing targets
  • Report on, and provide insight regarding, the performance of the current marketing approach, and highlight areas for quick wins
  • Review the current team’s capability, identify gaps and implement appropriate coaching, training, and performance management to develop the required capability
  • Review and report on the current marketing approach, its relevance to key markets (current and future), and its effectiveness
  • Develop, gain approval for, and take ownership of, a medium-term improvement plan to increase the effectiveness of the marketing team and the marketing budget
  • Take ownership of the annual planning and budgeting activity for the marketing team
  • Work with the Director to review the alignment between the business strategy and the marketing approach, and work to implement any changes agreed with the Director across the group.

 Position Requirements

  • Experience in leading an SME marketing team in a technology focused business to achieve agreed KPIs, and developing their capabilities to support the broader business strategy
  • Experience in creating marketing campaigns across multiple channels that educate, motivate, and cause customers to engage with the company
  • Experience in supporting direct sales and distributors to sell multiple product lines to a global customer base
  • Experience of using website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to analyse and improve on-line marketing results
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Experience in creating product collateral
  • Experience in managing events (e.g. exhibitions and distributor conferences)
  • Excellent analytical and planning skills, able to identify opportunities, set realistic short and medium-term targets, monitor progress and effectively deal with issues to achieve agreed goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience of representing a company at senior levels with customers, and at conferences and tradeshow events.

  • Degree in Marketing or a closely related field
  • Results focused, comfortable owning KPIs and presenting and explaining performance
  • A hands-on leader, able to motivate and coach their team, and lead by example
  • Strong analytical skills, able to identify and work with key metrics, draw conclusions and communicate insights
  • Good project management skills, able to balance short and medium-term goals
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to effectively work with team members, peers, directors
  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures with spreadsheets
  • Interested in learning about products and markets, and in keeping up to date with latest marketing trends and best practice

Electronic Assembly Operator

Position summary

Working within the Production Department, kit picking, building production units, recording build information, testing sub-assemblies / finished product and maintenance of localised stock items.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Building product to designated work instructions
  • Testing to specified test parameters
  • Recording build / test information on works orders / lot cards
  • Rejecting and recording nonconforming product
  • Inspection of work in progress
  • Maintenance of Kanban stock items
  • Use of in-house PC systems
  • Conformance to ISO9001 including, but not limited to, ATEX and CSA procedures

 Position Requirements

  • Experience of light electromechanical assembly work including soldering and wiring
  • General numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Working to standard times
  • Ability to use basic test equipment i.e. Oscilloscopes, DVM and ATE
  • Ensuring good product traceability of both Work in Progress and Finished Goods items
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and engineering drawings.

 Additional Advantageous Experience

  • Previous soldering experience to IPC standards
  • Manual handling experience
  • PC literate
