Gill Sensors & Controls Limited will be debuting their new Oil Condition Monitoring Sensor at Sensors Expo 2016 at booth 1239. This year Sensors Expo will be on June 22 and 23 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. This new sensing technology provides continuous real-time monitoring of particle accumulation and contamination in hydraulic and lubrication oiling systems. The sensor offers a three channel output, providing both an early warning of damaged bearings or gears that need maintenance, thus preventing unexpected downtime. Typical applications include monitoring unmanned vehicles, gas turbine engines, helicopter gearboxes, automotive systems, off highway vehicles, wind turbine gear boxes and industrial applications.
Solid particle contamination is a major cause of hydraulic and lubrication oil system breakdown, which can not only be costly to fix, but when compounded with unscheduled downtime, can cause even higher recovery costs.
Paul Cain, Gill’s Manager of New Business Development explains: “Unlike expensive desktop particle counters and contamination sensors currently on the market, Gill’s Oil Condition Monitoring Sensor provides a new cost effective sensor that stops ferrous debris from travelling through the system, alerting the system of the accumulation of both large and small particles.” Continuing, “With two independent channels for particle detection one for fine metallic debris and the other for lager metallic debris engineers have unprecedented access to the health of the mechanical components within the lubrication system”.
In addition to this new product introduction, Gill will also have on display in San Jose their current line of inductive GSposition (Blade) position sensing products as well as the GSlevel capacitive level sensor product lines.
