Lightweight, catch tank oil level sensor

Lightweight, catch tank oil level sensor

Originally designed for the ACO Le Mans Racing Series, the oil catch tank sensor is based on Gill’s proven capacitive level sensor technology.

Because of the length of an endurance race, the ACO has to be confident the sensor will remain accurate, reliable and repeatable over the course of the race, providing a continuous analogue output relative to the level of oil within the catch tank. This is important as the sensor was introduced to prevent overfilling which leads to spillage and unsafe racing.

Weighing just 90 grams with two 3mm diameter mounting holes for simple installation, the sensor builds on the success of the pit-tank level sensors installed in refuelling rigs for the Le Mans 24 Hours race.

CatchTank Oil Level Sensor - more details

Designed & Manufactured by Gill Sensors & Controls in the UK, the catch tank level sensor provides precision level measurement of oil for motorsport applications where weight and space are at a premium.

Gill catch tank sensor provides proven reliability in demanding motorsport environments delivered by lightweight, solid-state capacitive level sensing technology.

This product is currently offered specific to the ACO ELMS race series (European Le Mans Series), which is subject to concessions regarding the standard of individual product compliance certification required by sensors such as this one. Please contact us with any enquiries or questions relating to the use of this product in other race series applications.

Every sensor is factory calibrated with temperature compensation to provide market leading accuracy as well as quick and easy setup.

A tank profiling feature allows the level sensor to provide accurate tank volume output results even in irregular tank shapes.

Environmental protection to IP68.

Gill capacitive level sensors have no moving parts and as a result are extremely reliable and accurate, requiring minimum maintenance.
